This Season:

So after a wee break due to the 6 Nations, the 1st XV are back in action on the 3rd March with an away trip to Cambuslang Rugby

The West 1 league is looking like its going to be between Carrick and Allan Glens who meet on the 3rd and then again on the 10th March in potentially season defining games for both teams.

Saying that, Garnock are still in with a shout but need the top 2 to start losing a couple more games!

Annan finally got themselves into the top 6 with their win over Greenock Wanderers. Annan have now won 4 from the last 5 and are in a decent run of form.

In the bottom half, Cambuslang are probably 3 wins away from being totally safe from relegation. But with Helensburgh really struggling at the moment and Irvine not looking much better it might even be less than that!

All Cambuslang's wins this season have come at home, with 4 wins from 8. So Annan will have to be on the top of their game to return with the points.

An interesting game awaits!

Previous Encounters:

So we travel to Cambuslang for our 7th meeting at a 1st XV competitive setting. In total we have played the South Lanarkshire team 14 times. Annan have a winning record with 10 wins to 4.

The teams last met back in season 2012/13. This was during Annan's Championship winning season. Annan racked up 2 wins; 35-7 at Violetbank and 72-8 at Coats Park.

Annan have actually. won the last 6 encounters. The last Cambuslang win was a thumping 43-0 at Coats Park back in April 2004. The last in a run of 3 big wins for Cambuslang.

For the record, the teams first met back in 1997/1998 season. Which also happened to be the season Annan won their 7th successive championship when they won National Division 2.

As for this encounter, both teams need the win to keep their season on track, Cambuslang as a win would take them further from the relegation zone while for Annan, a win and a top 4 finish is still very much on the cards.

My prediction for the game: A Craig McCann drop goal in the last minute for the win!
