THE WARRIORS ARE DEFEATED BUT STILL PROMOTED
    SUNDAY 14TH MAY 2017

    HOWE CLINCH THE TITLE

So after a 3 hour bus journey, the Warriors took to the pitch knowing that they, like their opponents Howe Harlequins, were already promoted to Division 1 but the Division 2 Championship was still up for grabs!

Howe were always going to start as favourites, since they were at home, had a 4 point lead over the Warriors and had been playing great rugby all season but the Warriors on their travels this season in league and Cup have played some great rugby themselves!

The Warriors needed to win, win with a try bonus point and ensure Howe did not gain a bonus point (losing or try) to claim the Championship. Tough ask!

So on a lovely sunny Fife day, both teams were finding their feet in the early exchanges and testing each others defenses and there was no score until the 15th minute.

But unfortunately for the Warriors it was for the home team.

There was still plenty of time however but the Warriors needed to dig deep to ensure they scored next or stopped the Harlequins from crossing the whitewash (I know...great insight by me!!)

Alas despite some great chances for the Warriors, it was the Harlequins who scored the next two tries to take a commanding 15-0 lead.

But close to half time, the Warriors finally got onto the scoreboard with a great Abbie Clark try to take the half-time score to 15-5.

The 2nd half started with the Warriors knowing that any chance of the title had all but gone however there was still 40 minutes to end the season on a high playing the brand of running rugby that the Warriors had been doing all season.

And both teams played rugby that showed why they are both being promoted but as Howe have been doing all season, they showed why they are going up as deserved Champions.

The match ended 27-10 to Howe Harlequins - so congratulations to them for their win and clinching the Division 2 title. Well earned!

Try scoring machine Jane "Wheels" Stewart scored the Warriors try in the 2nd half

And also a well done to the Annan Warriors who despite the loss, are still going to playing Division 1 rugby next season! The whole of Annan rugby is proud of what you have achieved.

The Warriors league season ended with record of: Played 12, Won 9 (2 were walkovers), Lost 3

Top try (and point scorer) was Jane Stewart who scored 39 tries in 14 games (10 league and 4 Cup/Bowl games)

    Not bad....not bad indeed!!

Anyway, enjoy the Hawaiian theme bus home Warriors and I hope most of you have tomorrow off!

    LEAGUE DECIDER FOR THE WARRIORS
    SUNDAY 14TH MAY 2017

BIGGEST MATCH OF THE SEASON FOR THE WARRIORS

So the Warriors travel to Howe for the 3rd time and for our 5th meeting in total for a National Division 2 league decider.

We first met back in October 2015 at Violetbank, when the Warriors romped home 48-10 in a league clash.

Since then its been all Howe, as in the return leg that season Howe won 29-0 and then later on in the Bowl Howe also won 42-15.

We met earlier this season at Violetbank in the league. Howe came out on top again for the 3rd time as they prevailed 15-5.

So will Howe continue their run or will the Warriors break the mini losing streak and perhaps claim the National Division 2 title?

    Some game in prospect!

Supporters spaces on the bus are available - please speak to a Warrior or Tracy Whiteside for a seat. £10 per person

    Warriors Team: 1 Ash Clark, 2 L Kyle, 3 M Parker, N Barnes, 5 C Clark, 6 K Warrick, 7 S Grainger, 8 K McBride, 9 M McGeoch, 10 N Dobie, 11 C Gate, 12 L Vevers, 13 K Taylor, 14 R Armstrong, 15 J Stewart

Replacements from: Abb Clark, C Aitken, J Dalgliesh, L Thompson, M Alexander, E Jardine

    BIG SATURDAY FOR THE HORNETS

THE WARRIORS TAKE IT TO THE LAST GAME
    SUNDAY 23RD APRIL 2017

    THE WARRIORS WIN!

At a sunny Violetbank, the Warriors took to the field knowing that a try bonus win would mean the last league game of the season away to Howe Harlequins on the 14th May would potentially decide the the fate of the Division 2 Championship.

But first they had to beat one of the best teams in the division this season, Oban Lorne Ladies.

But what a performance from the Warriors.

It was a nervy game with both teams, as usual, trying to play attacking rugby.

It was the Warriors who struck first on the 9th minute thanks to a Kayleigh Warrick try. A first try for Kayleigh on her 24th appearance. Nicely done Kayleigh.

The Warriors were on top but thanks to some great Oban defending it wasn't until the 25th minute until the Warriors struck again thanks to, who else, the try shy Jane Stewart who scored her 37th(!) try of the season to take the score to 10-0.

And it looked like that was going to be the half time score but just before the half time whistle, Jane "38th Try" Stewart romped in to take it to 15-0.

The Warriors knew that they needed to a) consolidate the win and b) get a try bonus to make the final game of the season v Howe a classic!

The 2nd half started and for 17 minutes the Oban defense held firm. Nervy times!

But on the 62 minute, Abbie Clark stormed over to take it to 22-0. with Mal with the conversion.

And despite chances for both teams it seemed thats how it would end. But some Warrior indiscipline cost them and Oban had the last say and scored with 5 to go to take it to 22-5. But thats how it ended.

Well done to the Warriors and thanks to Oban Lorne Ladies who came down on one of the longest trip in Scottish rugby!

What this means is, v Howe Harlequins on the 14th May, that a Howe win or a Howe loss with a bonus point (loss or try) and Howe will be champions.

A Warrior bonus point win (with Howe gaining no bonus point) and the Warriors are Champions!

The only other scenario is a big Warriors try bonus win (plus 45 points) and even if Howe get a try bonus then the Warriors will be champions. Unlikely as the Howe defense has been rock solid all season....but you never know!

    Who said rugby was easy!

Best of luck to both teams on the 14th May. A classic is now on the cards!

Watch this space for details in the coming days re a supporters bus to the land of Fife.

LAST HOME LEAGUE GAME FOR THE WARRIORS
    SUNDAY 23RD APRIL 2017

    MASSIVE GAME FOR THE WARRIORS

Back to league business for the Warriors on Sunday.

In the last set of games played on the 9th April, Howe beat Helensburgh 100-0 while Oban beat Lismore 71-0

The Warriors were due to play Howe on the 30th April and then Oban Lorne on the 7th May however the game v Oban has been brought forward and will now be played this Sunday (23rd April)

What this means, that potentially the game v Howe (now on the 7th May) could become a National 2 Championship decider!

All the Warriors have to do is beat Oban Lorne Ladies at home....with a try bonus!

A lot easier to do on paper than it will be on the pitch!

Oban Lorne are in 2nd spot, with their surprise blow-out v Howe being their only real blemish on an excellent season for the Northern Ladies.

Oban Lorne Ladies know a win for them will secure 2nd spot and a very slim chance they could top the league (but this would require a huge huge win v the Warriors and then the Warriors to return the favour v Howe Harlequins)

All in all, a tough tough ask for the Warriors but whoever said rugby was easy!

So we welcome Oban Lorne Ladies to Violetbank for the 2nd time season and for our 3rd encounter of the season.

We first met back in January in the Bowl when the Warriors came out on top at Violetbank 10-8 thanks to 2 second half tries from Jane Stewart.

Oban Ladies got their revenge just a few weeks in the league though as Oban ran out 10-5 winners.

So with a combined score of 18-15 to Oban Lorne Ladies, you know this game is going to be close, I just hope its the Warriors that come out on top with 4 tries scored and a 1 point win!

    Starting 15: 1 Ash Clark, 2 L Kyle (Capt), 3 N Barnes, 4 Abb Clark, 5 C Clark, 6 K Warrick, 7 S Grainger, 8 K McBride, 9 N Barlow, 10 C O'Connell, 11 N Dobie, 12 M McGeoch, 13 K Taylor, 14 R Donnelly , 15 J Stewart

    Replacements from: 16 L Vevers, 17 M Parker, 18 J Dalgliesh, 19 A McCall, 20 R Armstrong

Players to meet at Violetbank 12.45 for a 14.00 kick off

    GREAT WIN FOR THE HORNETS
    SUNDAY 9TH APRIL 2017

    MURRAYFIELD HERE WE COME!

After a long trip from Annan, the U18 Hornets took to the pitch at Aberdeen Wanderers ground to take on Grampian Girls U18 team.

Grampian Girls are a team consisting of players from Aberdeen Wanderers RFC, Banff RFC, Deeside RFC, Ellon RFC, Garioch RFC and Huntly RFC.

    And it was a thriller!

In the 1st half, it was the girls from the North that proved more clinical with their finishing and they took a 12-5 half time lead. The Hornets try coming from Farish Redpath.

As I have said about 20 times this season, the second half starte, WITH the next scorer going to be crucial and for about the 16th time, alas it was the opposition who scored first right at the start of the half to take a 19-5 lead. Time to dig deep!

And dig deep they did as the Ladies from the South proved their mettle and came storming back with 3 amazing tries to take a 24-19 lead! The tries from Kirsty Barlow (2) and one from Caitlin Craik (plus Caitlin kicked 2 conversions)

The last try with 8 to go.

And despite some great pressure from Grampian Girls it ended 24-19 to the Hornets!

    Well played ladies!

    Murrayfield here we come!

    Match Report

SEMI FINAL FOR THE U18 HORNETS
    SUNDAY 9TH APRIL 2017

    LONG TRIP FOR THE HORNETS

Annan U18 Hornets play Grampian Girls in semi-final of Scottish Rugby Shield competition at Aberdeen Wanderers ground on Sunday with a 15.15 KO. All players meet as arranged.

Best of luck to the Hornets!

ALMOST BUT NOT QUITE FOR THE WARRIORS
    SUNDAY 2ND APRIL 2017

    KIRKCALDY LADIES MAKE THE FINAL

The Warriors took to the pitch knowing that a victory against Division 1 Kirkcaldy Ladies would mean a trip to Murrayfield in 2 weeks time! Not a bad prize for the winners!

In the the 1st half, in great rugby conditions, Kirkcaldy had the edge though, scoring 2 converted tries, either side of a Jane Stewart Warrior try, to take a 14-5 half-time lead.

As is always the case in close games, the first score in the 2nd half would be all important in determining the outcome of the match.

And for 10 minutes it was uncertain who this was going to be, but alas for the Warriors it was Kirkcaldy Ladies who scored next to take the score to 21-5.

The Warriors knew they would have to dig deep to get back into the game against their higher league opponents and despite a valiant effort from the Warrior players it was just not to be, with Kirkcaldy Ladies scoring once more.

The Warriors had the last say though with a great Correy Clark try at the death. Her first for the Warriors!

So congratulation to Kirkcaldy Ladies and best of luck in the final.

The Warriors now have to focus on the 2 remaining league games, games that could still decide the Division 2 winner!

Its been a great season for the Warriors so far and there is still time to make it an amazing season! 'Mon the Warriors!

Match Report (or the extended edition of the above!) / Match Highlights

BOWL GAME FOR THE WARRIORS/HORNETS AT HOME
    SUNDAY 2ND APRIL 2017

WARRIORS OFF TO KIRKCALDY FOR THE SEMI FINAL OF THE BOWL

So after another bonus point win in the league, the Warriors move into 2nd place. With 2 games to go Howe still lead the way with 45 points, the Warriors are on 41 and Oban are on 40.

Annan's last 2 games are against Howe and Oban so its still within the Warriors hands to win the Championship - going to be a very tough last 2 games though!

However, this Sunday the Warriors turn to Bowl action as they have been drawn against Kirkcaldy Ladies in the Bowl Semi Final!

Kirkcaldy Ladies are in National Division 1 and are currently lying in 4th from 7 with a played 9 won 4 record.

In the Cup competitions they were knocked into the Bowl....by the Warriors back in October.

In the Bowl, Kirkcaldy Ladies beat Grangemouth Ladies 82-6 in the Quarter Finals to set up the clash with the Warriors!

The Warriors entered the Bowl after being knocked out of the Cup by Aberdeenshire Quines in the last play of the game.

The Warriors beat Oban Lorne Ladies in the preliminary round of the Bowl and got a bye in the Quarter Finals.

So the Warriors travel to Kirkcaldy Ladies for the 1st time for our 2nd ever meeting.

As mentioned above, we first met this season at Violetbank in the Cup. The Warriors ran out 12-7 winners thanks to 2 tries from the try machine that is Jane Stewart.

It was a tough game, with the Warriors falling behind before the Warriors fought back for the win.

So Kirkcaldy Ladies will be up for a spot of revenge I feel and for the winners a trip to Murrayfield is the prize!

What a game is in prospect!

    Starting 15: 1 Ash Clark, 2 L Kyle, 3 N Barnes, 4 K Warrick, 5 C Clark, 6 C Barnes, 7 S Grainger, 8 K McBride, 9 N Barlow, 10 C O'Connell, 11 N Dobie, 12 M McGeoch, 13 K Taylor, 14 L Vevers, 15 J Stewart

Replacements from: Abb Clark, J Park, C Aitken, A McCall, E Jardine, R Armstrong, J Dalgliesh, L Thompson

Bus leaving Bank Street at 9.30am.

Bus has seats for Supporters. £15 a head. Contact a Warrior or Tracy Whiteside if you wish to book a seat to support the Warriors!

    U15 HORNETS HOST EAST KILBRIDE

STOP PRESS: Alas Hornets game is OFF as Violetbank is waterlogged with no hope for the pitch to be ready by Sunday.

The U15 Hornets are also on action on Sunday as they host East Kilbride in the league.

Game will kick off at 1pm and a big Annan support would be appreciated by the Hornets.

Players to meet at Violetbank as arranged with the coaches.

    SEMI FINAL OF THE BOWL
    SUNDAY 2ND APRIL 2017

    AWAY TRIP FOR THE WARRIORS

The Warriors have been drawn away to Kirkcaldy Ladies in the Semi Final of the Bowl.

Game to play this Sunday. KO: 14.00

    'Mon the Warriors!

BONUS POINT WIN ON THE ROAD
    SUNDAY 26TH MARCH 2017

    11 TRIES FOR THE WARRIORS

The Warriors travelled to Edinburgh knowing that they a) needed to secure the win (I believe...I never asked them!), b) get a try bonus point and c) rack up the points if possible.

All 3 were required if the Warriors wanted to keep up the pressure on league leaders Howe Harlequins.

So at a sunny Inch Park, the Warriors took to the field, were quickest out of the gate and were 10 nil up after as many minutes. By half time, it was looking great on all 3 counts with the Warriors in rampant form, scoring 7 tries to 1.

The Warriors tries were from Jane Stewart (4), Ciara O'Connell (1), Mal McGeoch (1) and Nicole Barlow (1). Mal was successful with 2 of the conversions.

In the 2nd half it was Lismore who started more brightly but it was still the Warriors who scored first thanks to a 2nd try from Ciara O'Connell.

Alas during the 2nd half, the players were suffering the effects of a hard physical game and there were quite a few injury breaks during the half.

Lismore were suffering the worst and were down to 10 players with about 20 mins to go.

However 10 a side rugby is still rugby and both teams adapted to the shorter game.

It was the Warriors who adapted a bit faster and 2 quick tries from Abbi Clark and Ciara O'Connell (her hat-trick) took the score to 54-5.

Rachel Donnelly scored her 5th of the season to take the score to 59-5 with about 5 to go

And a few minutes later it was full time.

So a good day at the office for the Warriors who now look forward to next Sunday and their Bowl Semi Final against.....TBC!. The draw will be happening soon (after the 3 quarter final games today).

As a result next Sundays home league game v Oban Lorne has now been put back to a TBC date.

And a quick recovery to the injured Lismore Ladies, thanks for a great game and good luck with the rest of your season.

    Match Report

LEAGUE AND CUP ACTION FOR THE TEAMS
    FRIDAY 24TH/SUNDAY 26TH MARCH 2017

    U18 HORNETS OFF TO BIGGAR

STOP PRESS: The Hornets go down 60-5 v a very good Biggar side.

The U18 Hornets travel to Biggar on Friday evening for a Cup clash. Kick off: 19.00

Players to meet as arranged with the coached. Good luck ladies!

    LISMORE LADIES FOR THE WARRIORS

So after the last game v Helensburgh was given as a 28-0 walkover and Howes amazing 106-5 win over Oban, the top of the table looks like this:

Howe 45 pts (2 games left), Oban, 40 pts (2 games left) and Warriors 36 pt (3 games left) Assuming the 3 teams win their remaining games v the other teams in the league (not a guarantee!) then the 2 matches left: Annan v Oban and Howe v Annan will decide the Championship.

Plus try bonus points and possible losing bonus points could all decide the winner!

Lismore Ladies are the best of the rest in this league and are lying in 4th with 4 wins from 10. When they get a team together (the achilles heal for a lot of teams in this league) then on their day Lismore can be a match for any team.

They are actually on a run of 3 wins in a row (12-10 v Grangemouth, 36-0 v Helensburgh and 20-10 v Grangemouth) but alas their last game at home v Howe was cancelled due to the aforementioned lack of players.

As for the Warriors a try bonus win is required to keep up the challenge on the top 2.

So we travel to Lismore Ladies for the 2nd time and for also our 2nd encounter.

Alas last season and this year for the home ties, Lismore have been unable to make the trip down to Violetbank.

Our only game v Lismore was back in November 2015 in the league, when Lismore ran out 29-19 winners. Jane Stewart scored 2 tries in that game.

As mentioned Lismore CAN struggle to get a team out but on their day they can push any team so the Warriors will have to be on top form if they want to keep up the challenge going into their last 2 games.

    An interesting game awaits!

    Starting 15: 1 Ash Clark, 2 L Kyle, 3 N Barnes, 4 K Warrick, 5 Abb Clark, 6 C Barnes, 7 S Grainger, 8 K McBride, 9 N Barlow, 10 C O'Connell, 11 N Dobie, 12 M McGeoch, 13 K Taylor, 14 R Donnelly, 15 J Stewart

    Replacements from: C Clark, J Park, C Aitken, L Vevers, R Armstrong , J Dalgliesh

    Final selection subject to fitness/availability.

Players to meet at Bank St for 10am

    HORNETS IN ACTION
    SUNDAY 12TH MARCH 2017

LAST GASP LOSS FOR THE HORNETS

The U15 Hornets lost 51-15 v Ayr with tries from Elli Kirkpatrick (2) and Isla Cooper who ran 75m from her own 25 to round all defenders and score under the posts.

The U18 Hornets lost a very close game 22-19 with Ayr stealing the win with the very last play of the game.

Tries from Kayleigh Proudfoot (2) and Caitlin Craik who converted two

    Unlucky but well played Hornets!

3 TEAMS IN ACTION ON SUNDAY
    SUNDAY 5TH MARCH 2017

HORNETS START THE GAMES ON SUNDAY

STOP PRESS Games are OFF pitches are waterlogged.

Both the U15 and U18 Hornets are in action on Sunday when they host Cartha Queens Park.

The U15 game kicks off at 12.00 while the U18 game starts at 13.00.

Players to meet as arranged with the coaches. Best of luck to the Hornets

    WARRIORS TAKE ON HELENSBURGH LADIES

STOP PRESS Game is now OFF. Training instead at the Everholm at 1pm.

So after the defeat to Oban, you would think the league might be over for the Warriors but its still game on!

Currently the top 3 are: Howe 35 pts, Oban, 35 pts and Warriors 31 pts. All have 4 games left.

Assuming the 3 teams win their remaining games v the other teams in the league (not a guarantee!) then the 3 matches left: Howe v Oban, Annan v Oban and Howe v Annan will decide the Championship.

Plus try bonus points and possible losing bonus points could all decide the winner!

For Helensburgh Ladies, its been a learning experience this season, similar to the Warriors last season. Having only recently being formed back in 2015 they are finding their feet and no doubt will be up near the top next season in National 2.

So we welcome Helensburgh Ladies to Violetbank for the first time

We played Helensburgh earlier in the season when the Warriors were in rampant form and emerged victorious.

As mentioned, Helensburgh Ladies started in 2015 and are slowly improving their performances.

Against the top 3 teams they are struggling as you would except but against the other teams in the league they are holding their own and have come close to winning on a couple of occasions.

The Warriors need to win with a try bonus point to keep up any hopes of winning the Championship. Helensburgh will no doubt be trying to get their first win of the season.

Hopefully a big crowd for the Warriors 2nd last home game of the season

    Annan Warriors Squad: 1 Ash Clark, 2 L Kyle, 3 A N Other, 4 K Warrick, 5 Abb Clark, 6 C Barnes, 7 S Grainger, 8 K McBride, 9 N Barlow, 10 C O'Connell, 11 N Dobie, 12 M McGeoch, 13 R Donnelly, 14 A McCall, 15 J Stewart, 16 C Clark, 17 J Park, 18 E Jardine, 19 J Dalgliesh, 20 L Thomson, 21 L Moffat.

Players to meet at Violetbank 12.45pm for 2pm KO.

WARRIORS LOSE BUT GAIN A BONUS POINT
    SUNDAY 19TH FEBRUARY 2017

    WARRIORS JUST GO DOWN

It was a battle of the top 2 with Oban lying in 1st and the Warriors 1 point behind in 2nd.

The first half was a close affair and it was the Warriors who stuck first on the 15 minute thanks to top try scorer Jane Stewart who scored her 31st try of the season (and her 50th career try for the Warriors!)

Both teams were committed to the cause and chances were few and far between but Oban took one of their chances to score an unconverted try on the 25th minute to tie the scores.

There was no further score for the remainder of the half.

The second half continued the trend of the first and was a very tightly contested match. Both teams having chances but no-one managing to cross the whitewash.

However, unfortunately for the Warriors, it was Oban who scored the next try on the 65th minute to take a 10-5 lead.

And despite some great Warrior pressure the Oban defence held firm and the game ended 10-5.

With the Warriors still to play Oban at Violetbank and Howe away from home (plus Helensburgh and Lismore) then despite the loss today - the fate of the National Division 2 title is still in the Warriors hands.

The Warriors next game is in 2 weeks time when they host Helensburgh.

    Match Report

    3 TEAMS ON THE ROAD
    SATURDAY 18TH AND SUNDAY 19TH FEBRUARY 2017

U15 AND U18 HORNETS OFF TO WEST OF SCOTLAND

The U15 and U18 Hornets also play on Saturday as they are away to West of Scotland in a series of Cup qualifier games.

Players to meet as arranged with the coaches.

WARRIORS OFF TO OBAN ON SUNDAY

After last weeks great win over RDVC Ladies the Warriors moved into 2nd spot in the league and are now just 1 point behind Sundays opponents Oban Lorne Ladies.

Oban Lorne Ladies have been in top spot all season as they have not lost yet in the league. They have dropped points though as they do have 1 draw against their name.

The league, as its been for the last few months, is basically between Oban, Annan and Howe. Between them they have played 21 games and have 18 wins and a draw between them. The league will probably come down to the 6 games between the 3 teams.

The Warriors have to play Oban Lorne Ladies twice and Howe once. Oban Lorne and Howe also have to meet one final time. So all still to play for!

So the Warriors travel to Oban Lorne Ladies for the 1st time. The Warriors and Oban Lorne Women of course met in the Bowl this season just a few weeks ago when the Warriors ran out 10-8 winners in a very tight game at Viletbank Jane Stewart scoring a couple of rare tries for her.

Annan have played in Oban this season when the 1st XV travelled up in early January, winning 6-3. I am sure a similar score line would be welcomed! Although it is hoped there might be a few more tries being scored!

A win here for either team will put them in a great spot to go on and perhaps claim the Championship although there are still quite a few games to go and Howe will be wanting a wee say in the matter as well!

    Annan Warriors Squad: from Ash Clark, L Vevers, J Park, M Parker, C Clark, Abb Clark, C Barnes, S Grainger, K Warrick, N Barlow, C O'Connell, N Dobie, M McGeoch, K Taylor, R Donnelly, J Stewart, R Armstrong, A Graham, E Jardine, J Dalgleish

Meet at Clubhouse at 7am on Sunday for a 2.15pm KO.

Supporters: Any Warrior supporters who would like a wee trip to Oban contact Tracey Whiteside or any Warrior player. £10 a head.

    Transport: Bus

    WARRIORS WIN BIG
    SUNDAY 12TH FEBRUARY 2017

    WARRIORS MOVE INTO 2ND SPOT

The Annan Warriors continued to apply pressure on the top 2 teams with a comprehensive 60-5 win over RDVC Ladies in Edinburgh.

Up until late in the first half it was a fairly tight affair with both teams showing some determined defence and it wasn't until Jane Stewart scored her 26th and 27th tries of the season with a few minutes of the half remaining that a Warriors win started to look the more likely.

5 further tries in the second half (3 more by Jane!) sealed a great Annan win.

As a result, the Warriors moved up into 2nd spot and now travel to 1st placed Oban Lorne on Sunday in their biggest game of the season so far!

For the record the Warriors scoring was as follows:

    5 mins: RDVC 0 v Warriors 5. Try: C. O'Connell
    25 mins: RDVC 0 Warriors 10. Try: C. Barnes
    35 mins: RDVC 5 v Warriors 10
    38 mins: RDVC 5 v Warriors 15. Try: J. Stewart
    39 mins: RDVC 5 v Warriors 22. Try: J. Stewart. Con: M. McGeogh
    40 mins: RDVC 5 v Warriors 29. Try: M. McGeogh. Con: M. McGeogh
    45 mins: RDVC 5 v Warriors 36. Try: R. Donnelly Con: M. McGeogh
    55 mins: RDVC 5 v Warriors 41. Try: C. O'Connell
    75 mins: RDVC 5 v Warriors 46. Try: J. Stewart
    76 mins: RDVC 5 v Warriors 53. Try: J. Stewart. Con: M. McGeogh
    78 mins: RDVC 5 v Warriors 60. Try: J. Stewart. Con: M. McGeogh

    Match Report

    WARRIORS EDINBURGH BOUND
    SUNDAY 12TH FEBRUARY 2017

BACK TO LEAGUE ACTION FOR THE WARRIORS

After a wee break for the 6 Nations, the Warriors will back in action on the 12th travelling to RDVC Ladies.

The Warriors are having a great season so far, 3rd in the league and into the semi final of the BT Bowl after their great win over Oban Lorne Ladies.

They will be wanting to keep up the pressure on the top two in the division with a win over RDVC Ladies.

RDVC Ladies are currently in 4th sport with a played 7 won 3 record. Looking at their results they seem to blow hot or cold.

I am assuming being a University team their squad selection is governed by student availability and when they have their strongest team out they can be a match for any team in this division!

RDVC Ladies best results of the season have been their 2 comprehensive wins over Lismore Ladies.

So the Warriors will be wanting to keep up the pressure while RDVC ladies know that a win will mean a 3rd spot finish is still a possibility.

So the Warriors travel to Edinburgh to take on RDVC Ladies for the 4th time.

Currently its 2 wins for the Warriors and 1 for RDVC. The 2 Warrior wins have been at Violetbank while the RDVC win was in Edinburgh.

So, we have never beaten RDVC ladies on the road so the Warriors will have to be on top form if they want to continue their assault on the top 2.

With Howe Harlequins not playing on Sunday, a win for the Warriors could see them in 2nd place setting up the clash with 1st place Oban Lorne Ladies the following week!

RDVC Ladies will be wanting a win to get their season to a played 8 won 4, lost 4 equilibrium and a 3rd spot finish would still be a possibility (although a small one)

    Warriors Squad:1 A Clark, 2 L Kyle, 3 N Barnes, 4 C Clark, 5 J Park, 6 C Barnes, 7 L Vevers, 8 K Warrick, 9 N Barlow, 10 C O'Connell, 11 N Dobie, 12 M McGeoch, 13 K Taylor, 14 R Donnelly, 15 J Stewart, 16 R Armstrong, 17 A McCall, 18 L Thomson

Meet Bank St 8.30am for a 12.00pm kick off at Peffermill.

THE WARRIORS MARCH ON IN THE BOWL
    SUNDAY 29TH JANUARY 2017

    GREAT WIN FOR THE WARRIORS

The Warriors get a great win over Oban Lorne Ladies in the BT Bowl, running out 10-8 winners!

In a very tight first half, the only score was a successful Oban penalty on the 18th minute.

Alas due to an injury, the game was delayed for about 20 minutes. A speedy recovery to the injured player.

EDIT: Turns out the injured player was Warriors Captain Lyndsay McGoldrick. Alas the curse of following the game on text updates!

Get well soon Lyndsay after your injury today from all at Annan Rugby. Hopefully you will be back leading the Warriors again sooner rather than later!

The game restarted and continued in a similar vein as the previous 20 and there was no further score by half time.

The game was being dominated by defences but you felt it would take just one bit of brilliance to possibly change the course of the game.

And on the 45th minute, up stepped the clubs top try scorer, Jane Stewart to romp in for her 24th try of the season and the Warriors had the slenderest of leads 5-3!

Thanks to some great tackling from both teams there was no further score for the next 15 minutes but then on the 60th minute, Oban Lorne finally broke through to score an unconverted try and they were back in front once again 5-8.

And it looked like Oban Lorne Ladies were going to hold on for the win, but with about 10 minutes to go, up stepped, who else, but Jane Stewart to fly in for her second try and the Warriors were back in front 10-8!

And despite a very nervy last 10, the Warriors defence held firm and the Warriors go through to the next round!

A great result for the Warriors who can take a week off to celebrate as their next match is in 2 weeks time away to RDVC in the league. KO: 12.00.

    BOWL FOR THE WARRIORS
    SUNDAY 29TH JANUARY 2017

WARRIORS HOST OBAN LORNE LADIES IN BT BOWL

After a 5 week break from rugby, the Warriors roared back into action with a 9 try win over Grangemouth Stagettes at Violetbank last Sunday.

The Warriors remain 3rd in the league though as Howe Harlequins also had a big win. Sundays opponents Oban Lorne Ladies remain top despite not playing last weekend. The Warriors do have a game in hand over the top 2, with the Warriors on 25 points, Howe on 30 and Oban Lorne 31. All to play for still in the league.

Sundays game is not a league game though but a Bowl game.

Oban entered the Bowl after losing to Broughton Ladies while the Warriors lost in a 68 point thriller to Quines. The Warriors losing with the last play of the game as well - an Annan Rugby trait during the 1st half of this season!

Since the teams have not yet met in the league, Sundays game will also give an indication of which team might have the upper hand come the first meeting in the league in a few weeks time.

So we welcome Oban Lorne Ladies to Annan and Violetbank for the first time.

In fact this is our first meeting with the team from Argyle and Bute despite Oban Lorne Ladies being one of the older Womens rugby teams.

This game will be first of 3 meetings between the teams this season.

The winner of Sundays game will get that wee boost in confidence going into the 1st league meeting (in Oban) on the 19th February.

Annan have met Oban twice this season (in the mens ranks) with Annan coming out on top in both games. Heres hoping Sundays game will have the same result!

    Annan Warriors Squad: 1 N Barnes, 2 L Moffat, 3 M Parker, 4 Abbie Clark, 5 K Warrick, 6 C Barnes, 7 N Dobie, 8 K McBride, 9 N Barlow, 10 L McGoldrick Capt. 11 J Stewart, 12 M McGeoch, 13 R Donnelly, 14 L Vevers, 15 K Taylor, 16 L Kyle, 17 Ashley Clark, 18 J ParK, 19 A McCall, 20 C Clark, 21 R Armstrong, 22 A Graham.

Meet at 1215 for 1330 kick off

    WARRIORS WIN BIG
    SUNDAY 22ND JANUARY 2017

9 TRIES AND 5 POINTS FOR THE WARRIORS

The Warriors notched another win under their belt as they defeated Grangemouth Stagettes 57-0 at Violetbank.

A great around performance with tries coming at regular intervals from: Jane Stewart (3), Lyndsay McGoldrick (2), Mal McGeoch, Rachel Donnelly, Abbie Clark and Sarah Grainger

A great win but the Warriors now have to focus on next Sundays Bowl Clash when they host Oban Lorne.

    WARRIORS HOST GRANGEMOUTH
    SUNDAY 22ND JANUARY 2017

LEAGUE ACTION AT VIOLETBANK ON SUNDAY

After last weeks game was called off due to the weather, its as you were at the top of National 2 for Annan and the teams. Oban Lorne Ladies are top and are the team to beat, with Howe Harlequins in 2nd spot and the Warriors in 3rd.

Basically the league is between these 3 teams and any loss for any of the teams now would put a huge dent in any Championship aspirations .

Grangemouth and the other 3 teams in the league are playing for experience for a challenge for the National 2 title next season.

Grangemouth are no pushovers though as they showed when they drew with the league leaders Oban Lorne Ladies. The only points Oban have dropped!

After quite a long break for the Warriors it will be an interesting contest indeed especially when they taking on Oban Lorne Ladies in the Bowl the following week!

So Grangemouth Stagettes come to Annan and Violetbank for the first time on Sunday.

The teams have met twice, once last year and once earlier on this season. Both were Warriors victories (48 v 15 and 34 v 21) and as you can see, high scoring affairs, with on average 10 tries score per game!

As to the game on Sunday, the Warriors need a win to a) Keep up the pressure on Oban Lorne Ladies and b) Keep up the momentum as they host Oban Lorne Ladies (in the Bowl) the following Sunday

The Stagettes will be wanting to get their 1st win of the season and will no doubt be up to getting that at Violetbank!

    Annan Warriors Squad: L Kyle, 2 L Moffat, 3 M Parker, 4 Abb Clark, 5 K Warrick, 6 C Barnes, 7 S Grainger, 8 K Mcbride, 9 N Barlow, 10 C O'Connell, 11 J Stewart, 12 M McGeoch, 13 L McGoldrick (Capt), 14 R Donnelly, 15 K Taylor, 16 L Vevers, 17 Ash Clark, 18 J Park, 19 N Dobie, 20 A McCall

Meet at 12.45 for 14.00 kick off

    WARRIORS BACK IN ACTION
    SUNDAY 15TH JANUARY 2017

WARRIORS OFF TO CUPAR ON SUNDAY

STOP PRESS Game is OFF pitches are frozen.

BT Womens National Division 2 is between 3 teams at the moment - Oban, Howe and Annan. Oban have the edge, are unbeaten and are currently top. With Howe winning the home encounter v the Warriors back in December, this is really a must win for both teams.

As Oban are at home to Grangemouth (and on current form you would expect a 5 pointer for Oban), Howe and the Warriors both need to win as a loss would mean they would start to lose touch with the Oban club. The Warriors still have the face Oban twice though in the league - so everything would still be up for grabs!

So the Warriors travel to Howe for the 3rd time to take on the Fife team for the 5th time. Since the clubs first meeting back in October 2015 at Violetbank, which the Warriors won 48-10, the Harlequins have won the last 3.

So as you may have guessed, the Warriors have never won in Fife with a played 2 lost 2 , scored 5 conceded 71 record. The home encounter in December was a 15-5 win for Howe and the Warriors will be wanting a bit of revenge for that scoreline!

    Annan Warriors Squad: 1 L Kyle, 2 L Moffat, 3 M Parker, 4 K Warrick, 5 N Barnes, 6 C Barnes, 7 S Grainger, 8 K McBride, 9 N Barlow, 10 C O'Connell, 11 J Stewart, 12 M McGeoch, 13 L McGoldrick (Capt.), 14 R Donnelly, 15 K Taylor, 16 L Vevers 17 Abbie Clark, 18 Ashley Clark, 19 R Armstrong, 20 N Dobie.

Meet at Bank Street at 8.45am to travel to Cupar for 2pm KO

    WARRIORS LOSE TO HARLEQUINS
    SUNDAY 11TH DECEMBER 2016

FIRST LEAGUE DEFEAT FOR THE WARRIORS

After a 4 week break from rugby, the 3rd placed Warriors took the Violetbank pitch to take on 2nd place Howe Harlequins.

In their last outing, the Warriors had scored 103 points! But this game turned out to be a slightly lower scoring affair!

In fact, it was only 3-0 to Howe Harlequins at half time thanks to a 20th minute penalty after the Warriors were penalised.

The first half had been a scrappy affair with numerous knock ons and misplaced passes.

In the second half it was much of the same for the early part and alas the game was delayed and moved to the 2nd team pitch due to an injury to a Howe player on the 50th minute.

Almost from the restart, Howe scored a converted try to take the score to 10-0 and the Warriors were under real pressure.

But the Warriors are a tough tough bunch, and from inside their own half, top try scorer Jane Stewart ran in for the try. The conversation was unsuccessful but it was now 10-5 to Howe with 15 to go. Game on!

Alas, despite some Warrior pressure in the last 15, the Howe defense stood firm and it was Howe who had the last say in the match with an unconverted try in the corner.

The Warriors cause was not helped in the last part of the game due to some indiscipline and 2 yellow cards that meant they were down to 13 for the final 10.

However, unlucky Warriors, who now have a few weeks before their next league game, which is on the 15th January, against Howe!

And a quick recovery to the injured Howe player from all at Annan Rugby.

    BIG GAME FOR THE WARRIORS
    SUNDAY 11TH DECEMBER 2016

WARRIORS HOST 2ND PLACED HOWE HARLEQUINS

So when (hopefully!) the teams take to the field this Sunday, it will have been 4 weeks since the Warriors last played. Not ideal preparation when you are facing one of the top 2 clubs in the Division for the first time this season!

Basically, National Division 2 has split into 2 leagues with Oban, Howe and Annan in the top half fighting for the promotion spot and the rest playing for rugby experience and next season. The 3 teams have 12 wins, 1 loss (which was a Howe v Oban game) and 1 draw between them!

Howe were unbeaten up until a few weeks ago when Oban inflicted their first defeat in a 17-12 thriller and now lie in 2nd. The Warriors are unbeaten but are in 3rd however they do have games in hand over Howe and Oban.

Going to be an intriguing game as both teams are playing great rugby this season and this will be far the toughest test the Warriors have faced in the league so far this season.

Warriors Starting 15: Lindsay Kyle, Linden Moffat, Jenny Park, Abbie Clark, Nadine Barnes, Chelsea Barnes, Sarah Grainger, Kayleigh Warrick, Lindsay McGoldrick (C), Ciara OíConnell, Jane Stewart, Mal McGeoch, Rachel Donnelly, Niamh Dobie, Kimberley Taylor

Replacements: Rachael Armstrong, Correy Clark, Katy McBride, Lorna Vevers, Amy Graham.

Meet at Violetbank at 12.30pm for a 2pm KO.

    HORNETS GO DOWN IN FINAL
    FRIDAY 2ND DECEMBER 2016

SUBERB DISPLAY FROM THE U15 HORNETS

A young U15 Hornets squad travelled to Glasgow last night to take part in a rugby comp on the back pitches at Scoutston, with the final being on the main pitch at half time (during the Glasgow v Munster game)

In the group games the girls:

  • Drew with Falkirk - the Hornets try scored by Lily Glendinning

  • Beat East Kilbride - with tries from Jenna Patterson, Rhianna Parker, Lucy Stevenson and Isla Cooper

  • Beat Hillhead/Jordanhill - Isla Copper with the 2 tries

So the Hornets made the final v Falkirk. Nice!

In the final the young Hornets side lost out 2 tries to 1. The Hornets try from Kirsty Cooper. Some great rugby on show however and played really really well, some future stars emerging, future Warriors!

Unlucky in the end but well done to the Hornets you made the club proud and your coach a very happy and proud man!

    WARRIORS HOST LISMORE LADIES
    SUNDAY 4TH DECEMBER 2016

    LEAGUE BUSINESS FOR THE WARRIORS

STOP PRESS Game is OFF as Lismore Ladies can not raise a team to travel to Annan.

Annan Warriors are having a great old season with only 1 defeat from 5 games in all competitions. The Warriors broke all sorts of records in their 103-0 win over Helensburgh in their last game. Jane Stewart scoring 7 tries in the game being one of them. A club record!

Lismore Ladies season has not got off to a great start but they are putting in some great team performances and have one win so far in the league but have been struggling to raise a team on occasions this season.

The Warriors will be wanting to keep the pressure up on the league leaders Oban Lorne Ladies and 2nd place Howe Harlequins while Lismore Ladies will be wanting a victory to kick start their season.

So the Warriors welcome Lismore Ladies to Violetbank for the first time. The clubs were due to meet last season but Lismore could not make the fixture. The clubs last meeting was last year in Edinburgh when the Lismore Ladies ran out 29-19 winners.

The clubs have actually met once before back in 2002 when the Annan Ladies team were still around. Lismore ran out winners that day so itís two for two for Lismore!

As for the game, the Warriors will be wanting to keep up their great start to the season and get their 4th straight win in the league and Lismore will be wanting the win to get their season back on track.

Warriors squad: Lindsey Kyle, Linden Moffat, Marie Beer Parker, Abbie Clark, Nadine Barnes, Chelsea Barnes, Sarah Grainger, Kayleigh Warrick, Nicole Barlow, Lindsay McGoldrick (C), Jane Stewart, Mal McGeoch, Rachel Donnelly, Niamh Dobie, Kim Taylor.

Replacements: Jenny Park, Rachel Armstrong, Katy McBride, Lorna Vevers, Amy Graham

Meet at Violetbank at 12.45pm for a 2pm KO.

    WARRIORS HOST OBAN LORNE LADIES
    SUNDAY 27TH NOVEMBER 2016

    BOWL GAME AT VIOLETBANK

STOP PRESS Game is OFF as Violetbank is frozen solid

Both Annan Warriors and Oban Lorne Women are having a great start to the season. In the league, Oban Lorne Ladies are top while the Warriors are 3rd (but with 2 games in hand). The Warriors broke all sorts of records in their 103-0 win over Helensburgh a week past Sunday. Jane Stewart scoring 7 tries in the game being one of them. A club record!

In the Cup competitions, the Warriors beat Kirkcaldy Women but just lost to Aberdeenshire Quines to enter into the Bowl and this tie.

The Oban Lorne Women were beaten by Broughton Woman. As both teams also meet in the league, this Bowl game will be a good indicator as to who (with Howe Harlequins) is the inform team in the division!

Going to be a tough old clash at fortress Violetbank!

Annan Warriors Starting 15: Nadine Barnes, Linden Moffat, Jenny Park, Abbie Clark, Kayleigh Warrick, Chelsea Barnes, Sarah Grainger, Katy McBride, Nicole Barlow, Ciara OíConnell, Eilidh Jardine, Mal McGeoch, Lindsay McGoldrick (C), Rachel Donnelly, Kim Taylor,

Replacements: Correy Clark, Rachael Armstrong, Lorna Vevers, Niamh Dobie, Claire Martindale, Amy Graham and Lucy Thompson.

Meet at Violetbank at 12.15am for a 1.30pm KO

    LEAGUE WIN FOR THE WARRIORS
    SUNDAY 13TH NOVEMBER 2016

    RECORDS TUMBLE FOR THE WARRIORS

The Warriors kept up their great start to the season with their 3rd win from 3 in the league after beating Helensburgh Ladies.

It was a record breaking performance as the Warriors won 103 v 0 which was the highest score ever by a Warriors team, Jane Stewart scored 7 tries, a club wide record and Mal McGeoch scored the 2nd highest number of points in game by an Annan senior player!

Amazing performance by the Warriors who scored 17 tries in the game.

The Warriors now have a week off but are back in action on the 27th November with a home tie v Oban Lorne Ladies.

Put that in your diary and get along to see the record breakers in action!

    Match Report

    WARRIORS OFF TO HELENSBURGH
    SUNDAY 13TH NOVEMBER 2016

    FIRST MEETING BETWEEN THE CLUBS

The Warriors travel to Helensburgh to take on their Womens team for the first time on Sunday in their latest league game.

The Warriors are playing with great confidence and flair just now and if it wasn't for that one last second lapse against Aberdeenshire Quines in the Cup, they would be going for their 5th straight win in their game against Helensburgh!

Helensburgh Ladies are having a tough start to the league campaign and currently sit at the bottom with a played 3, lost 3 record. They unfortunately could not raise a team for their last game and were awarded a 28-0 loss.

So the Warriors will be hoping to extend their unbeaten league record while Helensburgh will be hoping to get their season finally started with a win.

Annan Warriors Starting XV: 1) Lindsay Kyle, 2) Linden Moffat , 3) Jenny Park, 4) Nadine Barnes, 5) Clare Gate, 6) Chelsea Barnes, 7) Niamh Dobie, 8) Kayleigh Warrick, 9) Nicole Barlow, 10) Ciara OíConnell, 11) Jane Stewart, 12) Mal McGeoch, 13) Lindsay McGoldrick (Capt.), 14) Rachel Donnelly, 15) Kim Taylor

Replacements: 16) Lorna Vevers, 17) Abbie Clark, 18) Katy McBride, 19) Abbi McCall, 20) Rachel Armstrong, 21) Amy Graham

Meet at Bank Street at 0945 for 1000 departure.

WARRIORS WITH A BIG WIN OVER RDVC LADIES
    SUNDAY 6TH NOVEMBER 2016

WARRIORS TOO STRONG FOR RDVC LADIES

It was a clean sweep for the senior Annan teams this weekend after the Warriors swept aside RDVC ladies at a chilly Violetbank.

Coupled with the U14 XV over Paisley it was not a bad weekend for Annan Rugby!

The Warriors scored tries throughout the game and were 31-0 up at half time.

Jane Stewart also reclaimed the try scoring top spot as she ran in another 4 tries to take her tally to 12 for the season!

    The final score was 78 v 5.

Well played The Warriors - who now move into 2nd in the league. Only points difference keeps them from being top!

WARRIORS AWAY IN THE LEAGUE/HORNETS SEASON START
    SUNDAY 9TH OCTOBER 2016

WARRIORS OFF TO GRANGEMOUTH IN THE LEAGUE

The Warriors travel to Grangemouth for the 2nd time, for Warriors second game against the Stagettes on Sunday

We met last April in the league which the Warriors won 48-15. This is currently the Warriors only competitive away victory and so I am sure they will be wanting to add to that win tally on Sunday!

The Grangemouth Stagettes will be wanting to get their first win of the season and gain some revenge for last years loss to the Warriors.

Hopefully following on from last week the Warriors can repeat that result.

Annan Warriors Squad: 1 Marie Beer Parker, 2 Linden Moffat (Capt), 3 Lindsay Kyle, 4 Claire Gate, 5 Abbie Clark, 6 Chelsea Barnes, 7 Sarah Grainger, 8 Kayleigh Warrick , 9 Nicole Barlow, 10 Ciara O'Connell,11 Jane Stewart, 12 Mal McGeoch, 13 Rachel Donnelly, 14 Niamh Dobie, 15 Kim Taylor, 16 Lorna Vevers, 17 Rachel Armstrong.

And for 20 minutes the lead was defended and the Warriors go into the draw for the next round.

    WARRIORS IN CUP CLASH
    SUNDAY 2ND OCTOBER 2016

    WARRIORS HOST DIVISION 1 KIRKCALDY

So the start of the league season for the Warriors was delayed yet again as Howe this time could not raise a team to come down to Annan. So the Cup game versus Kirkcaldy Ladies will be the first competitive 15 a side game for the Warriors this season.

The Warriors only games so far were up in Dundee when they won the Morgan Rugby Queen of the Tens Tournament and the training session last Sunday v Stewartry Sirens.

Kirkcaldy Ladies are in a division higher than the Warriors and are having a tough start to the season with a played 2, lost 2 record.

So Sundays game will be the tough test for the Warriors, as they will be starting their competitive season taking on a team from a higher division, who have already played a few competitive games.

Annan Warriors Squad from: Lindsay Kyle Linden Moffat, Marie Beer Parker, Ashley Clark, Claire Gate, Abbie Clark, Correy Clark, Nadine Barnes, Chelsea Barnes, Sarah Grainger, Kayleigh Warrick, Katy McBride, Nicole Barlow, Ciara O'Connell, Jane Stewart Mal McGeoch, Rachel Donnelly, Susan Pollock, Amy Graham, Shona Barlow and Kim Taylor

ANNAN RUGBY - THE LONGEST TRY
    18TH JUNE 2016

WELL DONE TO ALL WHO TOOK PART

    Report by: Gary ĎTaggartí Coupland

On Saturday 18th June, Annan Rugby organised a ' longest try' sponsored event to raise funds for the club.

At 4am the day started off at the home of Scottish Rugby, Murrayfield Stadium, Edinburgh where with the kind permission of the SRU, Club Captain Craig McCann, kicked the ball off to start the run, which encompassed men's and women's senior players, carrying the ball in a relay format from Murrayfield back to the home of Annan Rugby at Violetbank Annan.

The runners were joined by Rachael Law Scotland U20 and Sarah Law, Scotland International player, who ran with the Ladies Captain Linden Moffat and Ladies Vice Captain Caroline Aitken through the Penicuik stretch of the route home.

At Moffat, our old friends from Moffat Rugby Club provided some much needed refreshments, before the final push via Lockerbie and Ecclefechan, back to Annan, where all the senior runners joined up to run the last leg from Scott street, via the High Street up to Violetbank some 12 and a bit hours later.

Whilst the senior runners were heading home and prior to their arrival at Violetbank, the club youth section were involved in running half mile laps around the circumference of the pitches and training area, prior to both groups meeting up to run down the first XV pitch for P7 Tiger Callum Kirk to score the try in dramatic fashion in front of the pavilion and the large crowd who had assembled to welcome all the runners home.

Some interesting facts of the day:
Total distance run - Seniors - 86.7 miles.
Total distance run - Juniors - 290 miles.
Fastest mile - Andrew Jancey - 5 mins 20 secs.
Quickest grouping - Craig McCann, Calum Bell, David Wylie and Josh Whiteside - 8 miles in 56 minutes.

The Club would like to thank all those players and members who put all the miles in from both the senior and junior sections of the club and all those who sponsored their efforts.

Thanks also to those who drove the buses and shuttled the players to and from the changeover points, Scottish Rugby, Moffat RFC for their hospitality and donation and all those who organised and managed the youth run and provided refreshments from the barbecue and Grubber.

Special mention must go to the Clubs honorary President Mr Alan ' Irn bru' Robertson, who attended at Murrayfield at 4am and then travelled all the way back to Annan with the runners to photograph and record the event as they progressed through the countryside.
