Grassroots initiative will see former Scottish rugby captain offer advice and support to grassroots club as honorary board member 9th June 2016.
Former Scotland and Glasgow Warriors captain Alastair Kellock has been announced as an honorary board member of Annan Rugby through the Royal Bank of Scotland RugbyForce initiative.

"Nearly there. Just a couple of end of season messages.
Firstly, Friday night is final session of the season starting 6pm. We intend to put all kids into 3 or 4 balanced teams.
Note: We will be all done by 7.15 pm.
On to Sunday. End of season awards ceremony will be from 4pm to 6pm at Bank Street. Kids (and coaches) to be smartly dressed, club/school tie if possible.
We would appreciate a plate of food (sandwiches/traybake/cakes from parents just to keep costs down.

U13 TEAM OFF TO STEWARTRY ON THE 15TH MAY
An U13 squad are travelling to Stewartry on Sunday for a Sevens Tournament.

An U13 squad traveled to Stewartry for a 7's tournament.
The lads played well and kept going against much bigger and more experienced sides. They played 3 games.
In the first game they lost 5-2 to Dumfries. Annan tries from Fin McCartney and Ross Smith. In the second game they lost 7-1. The Annan try from Duncan Smith. In the last game, Stewartry won 6-0
. Unlucky lads. Its all a good learning experience for the next time.
CELEBRATION OF ANNAN RUGBY
Prior to Saturday’s West 2 League game in the BT Regional Leagues Annan RFC are hosting a Celebration of Annan Rugby event with a Mini and Youth exhibition matches with free rugby taster sessions.
There will be Face Painting and a Bouncy Castle for children.
The events start at 12.30pm with free admission to Violetbank for all spectators who attend prior to 1pm and covers admission to the Annan v Clydebank game.
Thereafter normal match day entry fees will apply.
ANNAN/MOFFAT U14 XV AWAY TO BIGGAR ON SUNDAY
Annan/Moffat U14s are playing Biggar U14s at Biggar on Sunday with a 12.15pm KO. All players and parents meet as arranged.

An U18 Sevens took part in the Annual Dumfries 7's tournament. Alas the lads lost all their games but played well throughout in their first sevens tournament of the season.

LIAM IS MASCOT AT CALCUTTA MATCH
Annan RFC have been asked by the Scottish Rugby Union to supply a mascot for the forthcoming Six Nations Scotland v England International at Murrayfield on 6th February.
In a draw made by Club Vice President Gary Copeland and SRU Rugby Development Officer Ian Park, from ALL club players from P4-S1, Liam Ewing was drawn out and so he and his parents will be guests of Scottish Rugby and he will be on the main pitch during the build up and during the anthems at the Calcutta Cup match.

"The P4/5 Tigers are going to Scotstoun on Sunday 1st November, 2015 to take part in a mini festival prior to the Glasgow v Ospreys game.
The U14 are at Hillhead/Jordanhill that day and we have agreed an early kick off so we can take the boys to the Warriors game afterwards.
Cost for tickets is £5 per child/youth and £18 per adult.
We are also looking to run one bus for both the minis and U14 at a cost of £5 per head, for all passengers.
Dependant on numbers of players, coaches there may be a very limited amount (5 seats) of seating available on the bus for parents etc. These will be allocated by means of names out of hat if required.
Can either myself 07711720900 or Gogs 07967048979 be advised by tomorrow (Wed) regarding U14 players availability for Sunday and if they want to go to the Warriors game, require transport on the bus.
Numbers are required by tomorrow to try and secure the relevant tickets. All match tickets and bus fare will require to be paid in advance.
Unfortunately all players who go on the bus will require to go to the Warriors game if tickets are available.
Any players who travel independently and are not going to the Warriors game can still play in the U14 game"

TIGERS INVITED TO GLASGOW WARRIORS OPENING GAME
Annan P6/7 Tigers have been invited to Scotstoun for Glasgow Warriors first league game of the season as they launch their defence of their Pro 12 title.
Our youngsters will play in a round robin against five other sides from across the west of Scotland on the back pitches prior to the game.
The youngsters will then go out onto the main pitch prior to the Warriors game with some forming the guard of honour and the top two sides playing during the half time interval.
Prior to the main game last season’s Championship winning Captain Al Kellock will unfurl the GUINNESS PRO12 Championship flag on the pitch ahead of kick-off, followed by all the crucial rugby action as Welsh side Scarlets visit Scotstoun.

JOIN THE ANNAN RFC TEAM
The club has entered into "Beat the Street", which is a scheme to get more people active in Annan.
It runs from 1st September for six weeks.
Basically you walk, jog or cycle around Annan and there are sensors across town you touch with a card that records what you have done.
Cards can be picked up at the Library, Town Hall, Doctors Surgery, Swimming Pool etc. If you want to take part, when you register at the Beat the Street website, when the option of "Select a Team to Support" is asked, select "Other" and a further option appears of "Pick a team", select "Annan Rugby Football Club" smile emoticon
There are prizes for individuals and clubs who rack up the most activity!

CLYDE HEADING TO VIOLETBANK
Clyde, the Glasgow Warriors Mascot, is heading down to from his home at Scotstoun Stadium to Violet Bank as part of a one day Rugby World Cup camp taking place during the October school holidays.
The camp, which is being organised by Annan Rugby in association with Annandale & Eskdale Sports and Leisure and Moffat Rugby Club, will take place between 10am and 2pm on Wednesday 21st October up at the rugby club.
Also coming down are two of the Glasgow Warriors inflatables; the Try Line Challenge, where youngsters are linked by bungees through a giant rugby ball and have “score” a try whilst pulling against their opponent, and the Goal Kick challenge where they have to kick the ball over giant inflatable goal posts.
Whilst some are trying out these fun games Annan and Moffat coaches, along with Annan Rugby’s new community coach Iain Park, will be holding coaching sessions for youngsters from six to 14 years. In the afternoon they will split into teams and play in Annandale Rugby World Cup 2015

SCOTLAND V ITALY TRIP
The club is putting on two buses to the Scotland v Italy game.
The cost will be £10 per head.
The Youth Highland Games Team winners DO NOT have to pay.
Please could payments be made to the club by the 21st August. If anybody still hasn't paid for their tickets please could that be paid too by that date.
Any outstanding ticket money or seats not paid for by that date may result in those tickets and seats being reallocated.
Club opening times are:
Tue/Thurs: 7 - 8.30pm, Fri: 5 - 10pm, Sat: 4 - late and Sun: 4 - 8.30 pm.
The bus will leave Bank Street at 11.30am & Murrayfield at 6.00pm to return.
The theme for the game is Beach Party! So let's get in the mood and enjoy the day.

RUGBY CAMP AT VIOLETBANK
Annan RFC will be running a rugby camp at Violetbank on the 11th, 12th and 13th of August 2015.
10am to 12 midday in conjunction with Active Schools for ages 5 - 7 and 8 - 12.
All coaches will be SRU UKCC qualified.
You must book in advance though Active Schools via:
www.dumgal.gov.uk/summer or via 030 3333 3000 and ask for Annan Council Offices Customer Service Centre.
The booking codes are Rugby1 for 5 - 7 years and Rugby2 for 8-12 years.
Cost is £12 per day

YOUTH TRAINING
Youth training (S1 - 16yrs) will commence on Sunday 9th August from 1pm - 3pm. This will be a joint session with Moffat at VIoletbank,
This will be followed by a further 2 hour session on 16th August at Moffat.
Regular sessions for Annan players at Violetbank from 6pm - 7pm each Tuesday will commence on Tuesday 11th August.
These sessions are in preparation for the start of the forthcoming cup and leagues games for these age groups.
